Nirvana 2023!

Remember this post: Nirvana???

Well, we are back. I got a call a few months ago and was asked if I'd do the campground host for not only August, but also July. Of course I said "yes."

It's just a perfect as it was last year. We arrived on Saturday July 1 at 9:00 am, got settled into the host campsite, and by 11:30 was off to work! It truly is just as magnificent as it was last year.

Because this is a non-electricity, primitive campground, no RV hook-up, no dump station, and shared water spigots, its tailored for tent camping. RV are welcome, but again ... no hook-ups, generators welcome until quite time.

But the host site is full hook-up.

Some of the park staff left over the last year, some are new. It's nice communicating with old friends again.

Unbelievable .... and this is absolutely amazing.... last night, July 4, there were only 2 campsites actually occupied out of 40 available sites. The park rangers said that was pretty typical for July 4 as it's just too hot for tent camping.

Coming from Indiana where every campsite is booked for months and holiday's are near impossible to get, this is truly a surprise. But it makes sense. In our RV's we have air conditioning!!! And it makes me realize how spoiled I am.

The nights are still as dark as the back of the eye lids of a hibernating bear. The stars are just as awesome as ever in a black night. The view from on top of the mountain is beyond awesome. And it's absolutely magnificent camping with no campers blaring their outside light. It's dark, it's quiet, it's awesome!

Today is day 5. Yesterday (the 4th) my wife and 2 doggies went over to Hanging Rock State Park and checked it out. That place was simply too busy. We did not go to the campground. We sat it last year. The trails are just as awesome, in both parks.

So, here we are, my little world of Nirvana! Nothing has changed. Everything looks exactly as it was a year ago.

As long as my health holds out and I can continue to climb up and down these mountains and hills, I'll be back again next year (if they want me).

Well, again ... happy camping everyone!
