Don't get a hitch based on the weight of your camper. Get a hitch based on the max tow rating of your truck. Even if you don't need it right now. You never know what you'll be towing in the future. You don't want to limit your RV options or the towing capacity of your truck because of your hitch rating.
At the time when I purchased my 2012 3500HD long bed dually I didn't know what size camper I was going to get. The max 5th wheel tow rating on my truck is 23,400. So I purchased the Reese Elite series 25K removable hitch so I can get the max towing capacity from my truck if needed. You're spending a lot of money on a new truck and want to be able to use every pound of towing capacity you're paying for...Don't skimp out on the hitch to save a few bucks and possible regret it in the future. Just something to think about...
