It all depends on the trailer GVWR. If it's 16k, my take is that you would want a hitch rated at greater than the max load. You can't put a price on safety, but I don't know what your budget is. I picked up a Husky 26k for $520 a few years back that is more than up to the task for my 18k 5th wheel. In my humble opinion of course. Good luck!
