I have found one important factor, the more level the rig the better the door latches. I find if the rig is off left to right the door does not want to latch on the first try. If I have it right on the mark the door works first time. BUT do not slam the door as the kick back prevents the latch from catching. Really, it's the same principle of getting your spouse to do something they'd rather not..."Be firm but gentle". Works for me.
