We had the front A/C installed with the heat strip despite the advice on this forum that it was a waste of money. What we found out was that it was a waste of money.....Duhhhh!!! You won't need a thermostat for the simple reason that to get any heat out of the heat strips you will have to let the unit run continuously. Our heat strip for the front A/C was priced at $79.00. Don't know what the price of yours are, but you would be ahead buying a small ceramic heater or similar and pocketing the difference. My opinion only but I shoulda listened in the first place.
