On mine, it initially had slip-plate installed. I wasn't convinced so stripped it and went with white lithium grease. What a mess that was, collecting dirt, twigs, etc. So I stripped that and went with slip-plate again and have not regretted it.

I have heard of slip-plate for the "Super Glide" hitches. Is the "Slip-Plate" you speak of the dry lube like what CW sells or something different? Like this: Dry Lube.
