One of the 'features' with these newer rigs is the Elec Heat Pump will utilize the gas furnace when the difference between the Ambient temp in the rig and the SET temp is GREATER than 3 degrees .
As a test, set the T-stat to only 2 or 3 degrees greater than ambient temp.
