First let me qualify this - I don’t know what you could do to remove the old coating…but if I was in your shoes, I would focus on the roof caulk and make sure you touch up or re-do those joints. Is the coating flaking off? Tiny flakes or big flakes? Is it simply crazed and cracked and ugly? Either way I don’t think there is a way to get it off without possibly damaging or tearing your membrane. As long as it is not leaking and your caulk/sealant is good - I would let sleeping dogs lie.

I will add that on several of my past RVs I have used eternabond tape on the roofs. I may use it on this RV in the future.
