I installed the bedroom A/C myself. Get a low profile unit for clearance. Get a unit with the controls located in the inside housing. Running a wire to a new thermostat is for me a waste of effort. We use our front A/C when it is really hot and we need to cool the whole trailer down. The front one runs full blast until we don't need it anymore. No need for a thermostat for that. I installed a MACH 8 in my old 5th wheel two years ago and it sounded like there was a Cessna on the roof from the exchanger fan. That is a common problem for the MACH.
13.5BTU would be sufficient. I did not connect the front unit to the ducting. I blocked off the entire plenum area between the ceiling and roof during the install.
