We had the same problem with our new montana air matress. It got pinched in the hinging mechanism. Dealer advised montana was not going to replace (only 1 month old). We contacted montana customer service and they replaced it. We now store our new one folded up in the sliding drawer under the couch. So contact customer service. Good luck.
