Well ... I wish that was the problem. I pulled out the furnace - that was a job and a half. Then I started taking it apart to change out the limit switch, which is sandwiched in between the two furnace burners which requires a complete disassembly of the furnace. However I found that the burner was cracked so I've ordered a new one ($320) and it will be here tomorrow.

Ok, what's next. I'm ready for anything now ... I think.
