Thought of that ....... but I pulled my 20’ cargo trailer a 1,000 miles last week, using the same recptical on the truck, had no light issues . Could a loose ground on the tail light circuit in the Montana be the issue? I would think that the tail lights use a common ground and can’t figure out why the tail lights work but the turn signals won’t ....... and what does the pickups lights kill the turn signals when on ? Baffling!
