My bride and I both work so on vacation we make the best of it without over extending ourselves. On average we like 400 mile days, hit the road around 7am, stop for lunch at a rest area, and roll in to camp around 3 to 3:30pm (we like to drive about 60 mph). On days where we sight see along the way we will often shorten the drive time.
