Why don't you just bite the bullet, and get a cover. You can wax your hands numb, but the sun will beat you every time. It will prolong for a while, but you need to get it out of the UV. There are all kinds of inexpensive..realitivity speaking..covers that will protect your investment. I know they are a hard thing to put on by yourself, but you may get help from whoever goes rving with you.
