We do it often for some of the same reason Captain Joe mentions. As long as the rig is fairly level I don't see a safety issue. Now I wouldn't endorse this but on two occassions we saw people move their rig with the slide out. One moved a couple of blocks in a state park to a new site, the second turned the 5'er 180 degrees so the sun would melt the ice off the top of the slide so he could retract it and move on. Jim
