Not sure if it is in Montana owners manual, but I have read in one of my trailer's manuals to level trailer before moving slides. I was in a park and tried to help another camper that their big slide stuck part way in and would not move either with electric power or manually. With a lot of persuasion it finally went in. He was hooked up and off level when he started moving slide. Not sure what brand it was, but I always try to be close to level just to be on the safe side. One of my fears is to be ready to leave somewhere and have a slide hang up and have to deal with it when I am wanting to go. On the other hand I see many brands at dealerships that are not level and all slides are out.
