If I'm not mistaken I believe it was also through her efforts that a lot of the billboards and other eyesores were removed from the side of the interstates (can you tell what I think of those things). Too bad they are coming back so prolifically (I hope that is a word) today. Can't see the countryside in some places for the billboards and advertisements. Going into Kansas City you now even have digital billboards that change the advertisement every so often as you approach.
