This happened to me last week, just a side story we bought a class c and I’m fixing it up. This is going to Alaska next year, changing out the television’s.
I had 1 hole left to drill for blueray and sound bar wiring. Going up into a cabinet. Well I didn’t notice it had a false bottom and ran a 1” hole saw into a rats nest of wires.
Got real lucky and only wound 2 around the bit but they broke down from in the wall. Got lucky again as the 2 wires went straight down to 2 light switches.
Moral to this is double check and then check again cause ya never know.
