Looks like you would use one or the other, but not both.
The new one looks like it would take up less bed space. But also looks like you would have to unlock the hitch, pull forward a few inches, then raise the pin more, then pull out. An extra step, but maybe worth it.
Only available for a limited number of hitches, none of which are the most well known brands.
