I agree, the Duramax is a great engine. Nothing wrong with my '04, just like to stay under 100k miles. It sounds like you are getting about the same as I get with my '04, which is just fine. I wasn't expecting 30 mpg. It's a truck. I really like the Allison transmission. That is the selling point for me.
