We have a number of clear plastic trays we place smaller items in if they go on the shelf. Also, we only keep a few can drinks in the fridge at any one time and they are kept in the door. We keep the remaining in the pantry and replace one-for-one as we take them out. Last year we made a 6000 mile trip over 6 weeks and never had anything fall out when we open the fridge up.
