Just heard that on local tv news. It is ONLY the 6.2 gas engine, F250 built at the Kentucky plant. Also, it involves a very narrow window of time (about one month or so). 6.7 diesel is not involved as they use a different tranny, I believe.

Good idea to use parking brake anyway. I always do for two reasons. 1. Takes stress off transmission, and 2, if the parking brake is not used for a very long time, then when you do need it the cable will probably be rusted inside the guide and it won't work at all.

I know many people just throw the gear selector into P and jump out. I have never understood why it's so difficult to simply step on that pedal and set the brake.
