Slideout Adjustment

I had a problem with my 5er that I thought I would share with everybody.

I was under my slideout with it extended and noticed that the guidwires were pushing against the stainless plunger of the hyd actuator. In addition the wires were scratching the stainless portion when bringing in the slide.

Talk to Keystone and they said see the dealer. Dealer said it was not a problem. I looked at some 2002 and everyone I looked at that had the older guidwire system was adjusted exactly like mine. So I forgot about it for a while until it started bugging me again.

I removed the underneath cover for a look see and it was obvious the actuator and plunger were under stress from the wire. I was concerned that this would cause pre-mature failure of the actuator.

So I marked the adjustment mechanism so I could return it to normal if I got it out of whack. I adjusted the actuator upward until it just barely cleared the guide wires. No stress now. Works great so maybe it will last a little longer than before. Don;t know if others are affected.
