Absolutely NOT. The only extended warranty we ever bought was on a 1980 Chevy pickup, with the infamous 5.7 liter converted gas/diesel engine, and everyone knows what a disaster those were. Did buy an extended warranty on our first Montana, and wished we hadn't. $2000 wasted....well, the dealer made money, and the insurance company made money!
If you read all the forums on extended warranties, it will be a resounding NO. We just bought a new GMC, and they tried to sell us the warranty. In our case it was only a little over $2000. Still, NO WAY. And for $4000......boy your dealer is wanting a great Christmas party, apparently. Best thing to do, take that money you'd spend, put it in a savings account, and let it draw interest..for YOU. Then, hope you never have to use it.
