As a certified BBQ judge and BBQ caterer my suggestion is to get a Weber Smokey Mountain. It breaks down into three parts that can somewhat nest, doesn't weigh much and uses charcoal and wood chunks for that smoke flavor. Many BBQ contests are won with these.
