All you guys in the PNW

OK, here’s the deal. Not towing.
My granddaughter will be in a national volleyball qualifying tournament in Spokane the last weekend of March, 2020. My son and his wife have never been to Seattle. He wants to fly into Seattle, drive over to Spokane for the tournament, and drive back to Seattle to spend a few days sightseeing. And wants my wife and I to join them. We have been there but years ago, and in the summer.
So my question(s). Considering it is late March, but still at the tail end of winter, and highly variable weather, how likely will it be there would be a problem getting thru the mountains (or any other area) on I-90 at that time? Would not want to wake up Friday morning for the drive from Seattle to Spokane only to find out the pass is closed due to heavy snow.
And what is typical Seattle weather that time of year? And Spokane for that matter?
