The connections are defiantly not sealed by any means. However, A lot of us use a 50 t0 30 dog bone (when needed) when hooking up. The connection is exposed the all weather conditions. I have never had an issue and do not worry about that. Of course I'm not out there plying with it either. Its no different than the Christmas lights some put up at holiday time. Non of that is sealed either.
