Mine is exactly the same as your picture on the street side. With the hose disconnected, I loosen the bracket, lift the bottle up slightly and angle the bottom of the bottle outwards so the bottle clears the bottom lip. Then with one hand still near the bottom, reach I up under the hose, grasp the top of the bottle then angle it downwards to the ground. When it's empty I can do this easily. Reinstalling a full bottle requires me to raise the bottle and maneuver it behind the hose and raise into position.

I do prefer the other side that does not have a hose in the way. In that case I lean the top of the bottle outwards, then lift slightly to clear the bottom lip, then lower gently to the ground. Opposite motion to put it back.

In either case I can't imagine doing this with 40# bottles. My 50# Honda generators seem easier and lighter to put in the back of the truck.
