Cool Hi will keep the fan running all the time regardless if the compressor is running or not. In other words, constant fan. Many believe this will keep the air conditioner coil from freezing up. It is the setting we use all summer. We find the constant fan more soothing to the ear than the fan cycling on and off.
Cool Auto the fan only runs when the compressor is running.
