I had the same problem recently with the black tank valve leaking and when I went to flush tank got a very messy surprise when removing the sewer cap. I was advised by a fellow forum member to purchase a twist valve and I would never have the problem again. I ordered a Valterra twist valve from Amazon and installed it. It works great and no long time consuming repair with dropping the underbelly and buying new valves and cables. Try it.
