Fortunate you caught it in time. Others don't. One of my Marathons had a bubble similar to that, but about the size of a baseball and in the middle of the sidewall. When I went to the tire dealer, he said it looked like a broken steel belt inside. I got some good credit toward the G614's I now run on.
