Glenn you have the same RV as I do and same year, my buttons on the touchpad are not hard to press and I have never had any problem with using them, seems like something is amiss on yours.
I normally use my remote for everything but Auto Level and Manual Leveling but do use them a lot when the rig is parked at home.
