We were there in 2010. To get the Crater Lake Blue in your photos you need a blue sky with just a few white clouds. If it is overcast with cloud cover--the water will reflect the grey sky. We had a great day with blue sky + a few clouds and late in the day the overcast moved in. By staying afew days you should be able to get great color. If you geocache, there are some neat geocaches in the park. Check out our trip journal for photos.
