Regarding the "tanning" of the plastic trim. The only piece of trim that tanned on ours was the range hood vent (actually it was not pure white at the beginning). I bought (and used) Krylon Fusion white paint for plastic on the trim. It worked well, and the has stayed white for a whole year!
