Second opinion. I was called last Friday and told there was a cancellation for today and was asked if I would like to move my appointment up one week, so I took it. We met with a team of folks (5) to discuss my case. The pathologist at Chapel Hill reviewed all my charts and scan results and is confident that the cancer has not spread outside the prostrate. These folks are good. They make you feel at ease and take their time with you. Everyone there agrees that I am a good candidate for either procedure (External Radiation or Surgery). The surgical doctor we met with specializes lararoscopic surgery and the Oncologist in the radiation department is an Assistant Professor at UNC. All our questions were answered and I was told that I did not have to make a decision today and to take my time. Which ever way I go I will have the procedure done at UNC.
