It appears that Ford is reacting to the complaints of poor MPG. In addition to the 3:55 Diff, which is not good news to the heavy tower, they have extended the front air dam to 6 inches which will allegedly improve air flow under the truck. Perhaps our Aeronautical Engineers can comment on the air dam improvement but there is a guy here at this campground who built and drove dragsters for years who is skeptical that it will do much if anything to improve MPG. We have the "off road" package that includes skid plates , etc, hanging under the truck and it appears doubtful that a longer air dam will do anything but raise expectations with little or no results leading to even more dissatisfied consumers
