A very common mistake, easy to do. Best to start the black tank with 10-15 gal of water and then only dump every week or so. The chems used to breakdown stuff in the tank do not do anything in 2-3 days - it takes a lot longer.
Also good to keep grey tanks closed part of the time to prevent growth in them.
