sometimes simple is better
I had this issue with the same setup at the time , lots of grease on the ball fixed it for me. I know it says you don`t need it but grease makes everything slide better and takes up the small gaps in the connection. And not just a little bit either, Red and Tackey grease is the best. The other time it made noise was when the connection to the truck moved a tiny bit and clunked when starting or stopping I put shims under the hitch at the connection points, worked for me.
