The problem is not EV's it is battery tech, along with a host of political problems that are human creations and nothing to do with science and engineering. Pound for pound electric motors produce gobs more torque than combustion engines. So even today a Tesla Model S P100D puts out over 900ft/lbs of torque. So its not CAN an EV tow a heavy load, its how many miles can they tow it? The Batteries are the weak component.
So for the foreseeable future the diesel HD truck is the best tow vehicle. But that tow vehicle makes for a horrible daily driver for grocery and doctor appointments. There is not 1 vehicle that is best at all things.
