I have a similar separation on my 3791RD, and it is not due to any collision or contact with anything. I have several sidewall cracks below the living room slide and the "J wrap" metal is buckling on that side as well.
I can, with great effort, push it back together, however it will not stay that way. Have you looked for any cracks or buckling in the sidewall and J wrap from that corner forward?
