Drilling and tapping a "new" hole is a good thought. I will try that before drilling all the way through. Those Wago connectors are slick. But they won't fit into the swivel joint which is where the lamp wires end. Once I rewire the lamp, I will use those and hide them in the ceiling. In 20-20 hindsight I should have cut the wires further up into the ceiling. Oh well, it will all come together somehow.
