There are some who will never be convinced the 1 ton trucks are what is needed. However, I agree in many cases a 3/4 ton will do well. I have owed HDT's, many 1 tons and many 3/4. It is a choice, most or some aren't comfortable in a large Truck. Other's like myself was raised on large Trucks and equipment. One must fill the need or the want. I do believe 1 Ton Trucks is needed with some Montana's, I also think any 5th wheel over 15,000 as loaded to actually travel long distances a 1 ton is a must. There is no way I would load the 3/4 ton 2500HD as my 1 ton 3500HD DRW, is loaded. The 2500HD is not designed to handle what the 3500HD is designed to handle. The 2500HD can not handle the pin weight. Will it pull the 5th wheel yes. Stopping is another issue. It is a fact Dual rear wheel trucks will stop the load much better than a 3/4 ton truck. Your choice is your choice. Good Luck.

Happy trails.
