Torque Lug Nuts

This spring, I had Discount Tire install 4 new tires on Monty. Great job except the manager refused to torque the lug nuts to 125 foot pounds. He insisted that the specs required either 100 or 150 ft-lbs. I refused to have them torque the lug nuts and using my own torque wrench, did it my self while his techs WATCHED!
After that I did the recommended 10, 20 and 50 mile drive with stops to set the lug nuts. I have always done this and have NEVER had any issues with the lug nut on the aluminum rims.
Anyone else have similar experiences.--I put on Goodyear tires--works great on my older rig that only weight 12500 lbs fully loaded.
