Water flooded kitchen

Hi,

We had an incident today where the water was not turned off in the sink and flooded the bathroom and some of the kitchen. I’m concerned about water that overflowed into the heater vent. I see water has found its way outside somehow so it was draining somewhere. We got it all cleaned up including what we saw in the vent. The question is if there could be some damage to the heating system because of the water overflowing into the vent. We are considering leaving the gray water dump valve open in case there were to happen again. Granted, we would need to occasionally close it to build up water in the gray tanks prior to dumping the black but that’s better than a flood. We are not sure if one of us people are responsible for letting the water run or if the cat did it. We’re going to blame the cat.
