331RLT Near Disaster

Hello Montana RV’ers,
New to the forum and just wanted to post our near disaster and warn orhers.
We have a 2015 331RLT Mountaineer. We left our dogs in the camper for a few hours on a high 70’s degree day. AC was set at 68 degrees.
When we came back we opened the camper door and smelt a burnt electrical smell.
We noticed black soot around the AC intake and the Microwave clock was off . ???? Complete mystery as to what happened.
Upon futher investigation I noticed the Microwave breaker was tripped . By smell of the nose we determined the burnt wire smell was coming from behind the fireplace.
So I took it out only to be completely amazed the dogs and the camper are still here today.
See the pictures attached.
We hired an electrician to come finish diagnosing the problem and obviously repair it.
His conclusion was the condensation line dripped enough water to short out the fuse connector.
He pointed out the condensation line had-no sleeve which would have prevented the problem.
The bottom of the fuse block was wet and rust was on the screws and bolt heads. No signs of water damage anywhere else.
So my advice is to check behind your fireplace
and make sure the condensation line sleeve or insulation is in place to prevent a fire hazard.
