We just upgraded to a Montana from a Cougar in February. I'm not a fan of the solid steps. I've got two sets on my 3731FL and they're more of a pain when opening the doors, leveling the unit, setting the correct length and getting access when in storage. I park my rig on the right line while in storage just so I can get access, but it depends on where my neighbors have parked their units. But, you can't beat the stability.
