Thanks Guys,

After the wife got her under bed stuff out the bottom panel was removed, 4 screws and it lifted up. The problem was obvious.

The bed slide moves 23" in it's travel. The under bed frame has a 1" square board the removable bottom secures to. The 1" square piece is all but touching the carpet. There are 2 groups of wire under the bed. A 12vdc group and a 120vac feed for a plug in the side of the bed base.

The 12vdc group is/was secured to the floor 18" from the rear of the bed. The movement of the bed slide had pushed the crimped connector off the wires and then caused them to separate. Wires were re-attached, soldered, insulated and then secured to floor 26" from rear wall.

The 120vac feed uses 2 flat plastic plug in thingy's, to join the 14g wires to the movable bed slide. The one that was secured to the floor was 20" from the rear bed wall. The 1" square board had rubbed the 14/3 SO wire used at the plastic connector that the outer covering was torn and the black wire inside the SO wire had the insulation worn thru to the stranded wire inside for about a inch. The fix was to add 3' of SO wire to the existing 24" so the floor mounted plastic connector could be re-located so the SO wire can not be pinched by the bed frame when it moves.

Again we see Keystone/Montana assembly issues. Securing wiring in a position that would be in direct contact with a moving bed slide. The fix at the assy line would be to use a longer piece of SO wire, and secure the 12vdc wiring a few inches further from the rear bed wall.

So, might be a good idea to pull up the bed base and have a look-see to see if your wiring is like mine was.
