Lake Ontario trip

We just returned from a great trip. We went up thru Vermont and attempted to follow the coastline of the ST Lawrence. In Vermont we stayed at Shelburne Camping Area, not a very nice camp ground. We only stayed a night. Then we stopped at High Falls camp ground, it was nice and the waterfall was beautiful, not much else there. We decided to try Association Island Campground in Henderson Harbor, NY. This campground is on an island right in Henderson Bay. It is accesable by a small road on a causeway. The campground has been open only two years but the sites that are open are very nice especially those on the shoreline ($$). There are full hook-ups, cable TV, a pool, marina, small swimming area, small store, freindly people and an extraordinary view. If you go be sure you bring bottled water, the water there is potable but has a lot of chlorine in it.

We were a little disappointed because all the sites are set up for Class A motor homes an we couldn't back in to have the picture window facing the water. Again they are not finished buillding and hope to add sevearal more sites and amenities.

We stayed a full week and will return next year.

PS: We saw a lot of MONTANAs and several were at Assooociation Island.

Happy camping
