I sometimes put a little active yeast down the toilet. When I drain I don't drain it all. That way the yeast environment will continue. I've done this for a couple of years. No dreaded pile up.

My dad and I replaced his. He ordered the seal (it comes in a roll) online. It wasn't hard to replace. Just a little cutting and cleaning. Then slip into place .
