12v Compressors

Not trying to hijack the post, but has anyone performed the 12v compressor conversion on the Norcold 18ft unit. If so what are their experience and how difficult was the conversion?

Testing the capacitor

I agree with testing or just replacing the capacitor. It is an easy, fairly cheap job that just might save a lot of $. If dead it would look like you have a problem with the compressor.

Agree with everyone to contact PullRight, I found them helpful. It sounds like the trip lever/catch is bent and has slid down on its post, that keeps it from catching open. It’s a simple fix, you...

Soft Start install

I have installed them on both units, it was an easy install with good support from the mfg., and although I have not tried it at a park my WatchDog unit shows a draw of less than 30 amps at all times...

Just a thought

Since you recently had the "bearings packed" you might pull them off and look at them to make sure a seal hasn't leaked due to poor workmanship and that you may have grease on the brakes. Also at...

Agree with the 40 to 50 psi, like your regulator. Just make sure you get all the lines, such as the washer hook up (even if you don’t have a machine). I missed the shower one year and ended up with...

Another vote for the MorRyde

I installed the MorRyde on my last trailer (a Bighorn) and my current Montana came with one (Cheap *** have now gone with a different pin box to save some $). Have never had a problem with chucking...

The polished surface of the rotors is a prime area for rust, don't drive your auto or tow vehicle for a couple of days after being out in the rain and look at the rotors, rust happens.

Moryde pin box

This is a great system, on my second trailer with one. The install system using the truck bed tailgate is the one I used the only issue then is getting it on and off the truck, they are heavy.

No need to plug in

I agree with Jim and Dick, a well charged battery with no drain on the system will make it through the winter with no problem.

Smile 90 degree power adapter

You might also want to invest in a 90 degree adapter for your power cord to take off some of the strain, and possibly keep the new power cord from doing the same thing.:)

They don't enforce it until they do!

Those of you who say the CHP never enforce the license restrictions when towing are mostly right. Several years ago The CHP decided to set up a check point at Pismo Beach and were forcing those not...

55mph speed

I agree that driving 55 creates an unsafe situation but the CHP has lobbied against changing i it. I also agree that that you can safely push 63 if not 65, especially if traffic is moving.

I understand the potential problems with running LT tires on a trailer, however you will not go wrong with the XPS rib except for the premium price. Had a 35" Bighorn that went through China bombs...

Disc brakes

I agree with Cruiser, the brakes have little effect on the suspension. The regular suspension requires periodic maintenance (lube and checking for wear). One of my wet bolts came from the factory...
